HELPING HANDS
Helping Hands' main objective is to do hands-on philanthropy and community outreach.
Yearly projects have included making “ditty-bags" for the kids at Bethune Transitional Center, cooking dinner at the Ronald McDonald house, and making Valentine's for the Vets at Long Beach Veterans Hospital.
We've also made dog coats for the animals at Long Beach Animal Care Services; made Easter Baskets for children at Interval House;
packed individual laundry soap bags for Bethune Transitional;
and held a baby shower at Precious Life Shelter. As an ongoing project, we knit and crochet for cancer charity Knots of Love and for homeless shelters.
Join us and learn what fun you can have being social and helping other people. Section leader Cathy Fagen has all the details.
